Friends Of Perry Animal Shelter Gets Grant!

Hello friends! We have many exciting things going on at the shelter this month. This month Friends of Perry Animal Shelter has already accomplished so much. One of the major achievements was receiving a $5,000 grant for sterilization of dogs and cats in the city of Perry. The grant was awarded to us by the Georgia Department of Agriculture. The grant is funded from the sale of the Dog and Cat Sterilization License Plates and from private donations. The Georgia Department of Agriculture Dog and Cat Sterilization Grant Program serves the following purposes: (1) help pay for dog and cat sterilization procedures performed by Georgia licensed and accredited veterinarians, (2) provide educational materials about the benefit of sterilization, and (3) promote the sale of the Dog and Cat Sterilization License Plate. The purpose of the Dog and Cat Sterilization Grant Program is to provide financial assistance with sterilization procedures.  The Department hopes that grant funds will ease the burden of sterilization procedures and increase the number of dogs and cats sterilized in Georgia.
